Microman 2000X Series

By 2000, both the Replica and the Magne/LED Powers line were greatly decline in popularity. Takara decided in 2002 to put Microman on an indefinite hiatus status again for the second time. There were some small token releases of the exclusives from Replica Microman series (reproduction line) by e-Hobby which actually dragged on to early 2003 but it seem Microman was again being put on the back burner by TAKARA.

In late 2003, TAKARA announced a brand new, but limited, Microman series called simply as Microman 2003. The new series was unlike anything they have done before with the use of all new super-articulated body and figures that seem to be gear toward adult collectors. The 2003 series turn out was created to basically test the market for these new style "Microman" and the series prove to be quite a success. In 2004, which also marked the 30th Anniversary of Microman, Takara for the second time re-launched Microman series for the 21st Century. The new line featured not only Microman original character designs but also many licensed characters including characters from DC Comic, characters from video games and various animes and movies. By 2005, the new series included Microman figures with full cloth outfits and rubber suits and even small assortment of vehicles. It seems Takara finally found Microman series that they can market for this new millennium.

Microforce Story

Microman Force story at first appeared in what seemed to be an unrelated story from the vintage classic series and the Magne Power series. The 2003-04 story was told briefly in the story booklet and then expanded greatly in Quanto magazine as a photo story. The story was then compiled and published as Zero One Mook. For 2005, Takara commissioned new manga (done in US comic book style with full color pages) serial and published also in Quanto magazine. The new comic was mildly successful and made a return for 2006.
