Microman Series 2006

Microman series returns in 2006 with several exclusive releases at the beginning of the year. These exclusives are simply repainted versions of Military Force and more of special Microman Material Force set. In April 2006, Takara simultaneously release both Microman Assassin Force series and Acroyear XADO series to mark the "official" 2006 line-up for Microman core line series. The Assassin and XADO look also to be main focus for the manga this year. (The old manga wrap-up the story last month and the new story arc will begin in May). Takara also plan new Microlady & Acrolady series for second quarter of 2006 and these most likely will feature the new "Ver. 2" of Microlady body. (Also known as Microlady Anime Version body). Takara also announce another special two-pack set which will features Acro-Asura and Microsister Hanna, the two winner of pick your Microman contest by Quanto (follow in the same tradition as "Falcon & Manon" set from last year and Jin & Xiang-ni from the year before).

Micro Action Series 2006

TAKARA Micro Action Series returned in 2006 with a big bang in the form of 1/18 scale Scopedog mecha from Armored Trooper Votoms series (c.1983-84). The 2006 Micro Action line-up wass even more diverse than the previous year, including Superman (A Superman Returns movie tie in) and Supergirl. TAKARA also released the first Micro Action Series figure to be based on tokukatsu TV show (Japanese live action show). The new series is from TAKARA-TOMY sponsor TV show called "The Madan Knight Ryukendo". (TAKARA also produce separate kid-specific toy line that go with the show). Eva girls also make a return with "plug suit" versions. (The plug suit are the suits that they wear when they pilot Evangelion mecha). Beside DMZ sub-series, Takara also start another Micro Action sub-line called Micro Action Plus (MA+) which begin with another Votoms figure along with play-set.

For the second half of 2006, Micro Action Series went full steam with new Kinikuman sub-series along with second DMZ release with even larger armor suit from Votoms, DMZ-02 Strike-Dog. Special exclusives Micro Action for this year was Micro Action Mellowlink (Votoms spin off series) that was included with DVD set (similar to last year Cutie Honey).

Microman Material Force 2006

Material Force is a series of plain body Microman 200X figures in various colors released by TAKARA but sold exclusively at Toys R Us stores in Japan. The 2006 line expanded to include Microsister Material Force. The new Sister Full Action body come in three chest size (S, M, and L) and the initial line-up include white, black, pink and light yellow. For 2006, Takara also added more colors to the ever growing line of these plain figures. The series is catered to the new growing sector of action-figure collector who customize their own figures.

MICRO-SISTER

Microman Full Action Sister Body was introduced in 2005 with the release of MicroSister series. The new body uses all new design with some elements from the first two Full Action Body. Takara eliminated a lot of unsightly joints and screw and the Sister Body consists mostly of peg style. Despite the smaller size the new design boost 36 points of articulations. Takara is planning a new Microlady body call "anime type" which will utilize the same construction as Sister body. The figures come in the same packaging design as Microman and Microlady Material Force except the logo are pinks and slightly smaller.

Kiguru Microman Series 2006

Even though the 2004 Microman Kiguru Series did not enjoy much success with fans (both Godzilla and Microman collectors) TAKARA curiously release more Kiguru Microman in January of 2006 to kick-off the 2006 Microman series. Since 2006 is the official 40th Anniversary of Daiei Studio's Gamera, the 2006 Kiguru series features two Microman Gamera, KM-04 Microman Ricky with the old 1965 Showa Version of Gamera and KM-05 Microman Vain with 1995 "Heisei" version. Also release as part of the 2006 series is KM-03, a black and white repaint of KM-01Microman Billy & Godzilla from the 2004 Kiguru series.

Kiguru Microman are costumed actors that play as the popular monsters. They are part of Microman lore and make several cameo appearances in the Microman Force manga.
