Microman Command Cosmo Car Series - Cosmo Countach

Like the Cosmo Porsche, the Cosmo Countach was based on a real vehicle, in this case, a Lamborghini Countach, produced from 1974-1990. Unlike the Cosmo Prosche, one can barely find them on the collectors market. For whatever reason, they were either produced in much smaller quantities, or somebody has a hoard of them somewhere.

The CosmoCountach was produced in three colors: mustard yeloow, red and blue. One of the reasons for their scarcity/popularity may be due to the fact that they were seen as an early, proto-Transformer, as the car can be reconfigured into a robot, which presages Takara's later turn towards transforming Micros which kicked into gear around 82-83.

I couldn't find a much on the Countach's story, other than this translation from https://www5e.biglobe.ne.jp/~mikuro/sub1-6.htm, and I don't know if this is the official story or not. But here it is:

Cosmo Countach

The evil hand of the Acroyear army is approaching your room. This Cosmo Countach has been dispatched to save you from this crisis.

Normally, it is displayed as a model car in a model shop or in your room, but when an Acroyear approaches, it changes into a robot car and repels the Acroyear with its outstanding speed and missile attacks.

The rear of the body can be recombined to transform into a robot form. The Microman Commandos operate the vehicle, which is extremely useful when searching for enemy territory. Its high speed prevents the enemy from pursuing, and the robot mecha operates for defense and data collection.

The car mechanic and robot mechanism are connected, and the main computer controls all operations of the robot car. Change parts were manufactured to increase mobility, allowing it to operate in any location.

Due to the scarcity of the item, I thought it'd be good to show the images larger. These are all taken from the aforementioned site, plus some auction photos.

These great auction shots show the outerbox and the three color variants. Likely as a cost cutting measure, the same box was used for all three with a simple color sticker.
