Robotman - Mechadon
Robotman Mechadon was actually released as part of Takara's Kotetsu Geeg line. Mechadon was comic relief character from Geeg TV show, probably along the same concept as Boss Barot from Mazinger Z series. Geeg was a TV show produced by Toei and was designed by Mr. Go Nagai, in which Takara happen to own the toys license. Since Takara loved to do co-branding with their properties, this explained why Geeg and Gakeen toys often showed up in Microman series and vice versa. Also when Mego licensed Microman from Takara they also took many Geeg toys and incorporated them into Micronauts series and further mixing the two lines together.
Robotman Mechadon was retooled Robotman toy with new limbs to make it look like Mechadon character from Geeg TV show. Mechadon Robotman came with new head, chest cover, legs and arms. The body was the same as Robotman but with the back parts and the chrome sections molded completely in red. The head part connected to the chest section and can be position up or down. Mechadon came with the "necklace" with small cup that hold the small human figure. The toy retained the battery power motor and required two C batteries to operate. Mechadon utilized Robotman's mechanical arm sockets and when the unit was turned on the two yellow tool-hands would swing up and down.
Mechadon Robotman retained the caterpillar and can turned into "tractor" mode and moved by the battery powered motor. Mechadon Robotman legs were replaced by a single sled-like part that resemble Mechadon sitting down. The caterpillar had to be moved into down position to make him sit up right, this might seem odd at first but the caterpillar actually double as motorized "feet" to help propel Mechadon forward when the power was on. While Mechadon was not really a Microman toy, Takara sold him as part of the Robotman series and Geeg series. Both the box and instruction sheet showed Mechadon Robotman to be fully compatible with standard Robotman and Bull Dozer accessory.

Mechadon Robotman came with sticker sheet to decorate him to look like Mechadon character from the TV show (see left for anime version of Mechadon). Mechadon was a pretty good attempt by Takara to reuse the existing mold and turn it into another tie-in toy for both Geeg and Robotman series. Robotman Mechadon, like most Geeg and Robotman toys, were pretty uncommon and usually were hard to come by especially in mint condition.
